The hit series sees mechanic Fuzz Townshend and engineering enthusiast Tim Shaw travel around the UK and Europe to restore and refurbish classic four-by-fours.
With the reality show continuing to air on weekdays on Channel 4, fans have grown curious to know more about one of its stars.
What is Car SOS star Fuzz Townshend's real name?
As well as working on Car SOS, Fuzz Townshend is a drummer, motoring journalist for Classic Car Weekly, mechanic and former technical editor of Practical Classics.
However, as many might have guessed, Fuzz isn’t the real name of the 59-year-old presenter.
Car SOS star Fuzz Townshend’s real name is John Richard Keith Townshend.
He is rarely referred to by his actual name which has prompted the question of where his nickname originated from.
When asked about this by Mens Wear Style, Fuzz explained: “Back in my hometown I was the only kid with fuzzy hair.
“Well not the only kid with fuzzy hair, there was one other kid, but I was the oldest.
“Fuzzy hair was rare so that’s where the name came from.”
Away from the series, Fuzz has been married to his wife Karen since 2020 and welcomed a new baby in October of that same year.
Prior to their relationship, he was reportedly married to Cressida, a freelance horse groomer and rider, for more than a decade.
Fuzz also shares a daughter and a son with his ex-wife, although very few details are known about them.
