Meghan Markle's 'hard to find' reason why Suits was such a success

Before tying the knot with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle dazzled audiences as Rachel Zane in the hit series Suits

Set against the high-stakes backdrop of a dynamic New York law firm, Meghan's character teamed up with Mike Ross, portrayed by Patrick J. Adams.

Their riveting on-screen chemistry eventually led to an eagerly-awaited wedding in season seven - a fitting parallel to Meghan's own nuptials with Harry as she bade adieu to her acting career.

Despite concluding in 2019, Suits found new life when Netflix picked up the show in June 2023, with binge-watchers consuming more than 45 billion minutes of it.

And speaking with Variety in 2023 about the show's lasting charm, Meghan reflected on why it was such a success.

She said: "It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time. It's hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting."

With the buzz around Suits swelling once more due to an upcoming spin-off series, fans are abuzz with chat over whether we might witness Meghan reprising her role for a cameo.

The new series will pivot around a fresh character, according to reports, focusing on Ted Black, an ex-federal prosecutor from New York now carving out a new life as a rep for LA's most influential clientele.

Rumoured to play the role is Arrow star Stephen Amell. Josh McDermitt of The Walking Dead fame is also expected to be a crucial cast member.

At this year's Golden Globes, Patrick Adams tantalised fans with the prospect of a reunion with Meghan on screen. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he said: "Sure. Mike and Rachel in Seattle. They gotta come down to LA. they gotta fix some stuff."

He added: "If we got the phone call, if I got the phone call, I'm ready to suit up again. I love the show, I love the character. And I loved working with all these people."
