This Morning viewers were left somewhat "confused" and frustrated as regular guest Ashley James discussed the feedback she received about her bold lilac suit.
The 37-year-old model, who frequently contributes to the show's Morning Views segment with her insights, was allowed to present a different story. On this occasion, Ashley addressed the criticism she had received for the suit she wore on the programme a few weeks earlier.
Ashley's tailored lilac suit seemed to stir controversy, with Ashley suggesting that the deep neckline might be the cause. During the segment, the television personality asked several people whether her suit was suitable for TV, and the question was later put to various passers-by on the street regarding her cleavage.
However, viewers at home were baffled and took to X to express their thoughts, indicating they had more pressing concerns.
One viewer vented: "Think people got bigger things to worry about I couldn't give a [poop emoji].
Another commented: "Was really confused by this body-shaming item. I thought the objections to Ashley's suit may have been to do with the colour (which I thought was nice, anyway) or those frilly bits on the arms and shoulders, and couldn't see the link. Shows you how much notice I take," reports the Mirror.
Yet another wrote: "Ashley likes to make a mountain out of a molehill to stay relevant. The chances are people were commenting on her clothing style not her body or cleavage, similar to when people compliment you for your jacket or dress."
One critic harshly commented: "No one cared Ashley. And no one ever will- unless perhaps you return to scripted reality TV."

Yet, amidst the backlash, Ashley's supporters were quick to counter the negativity. A supporter expressed their admiration, saying: "Ashley James is a national treasure. She's kind, promotes inclusivity, and speaks so concisely AND with confidence. The definition of gorgeous, both inside and out."
Another chimed in with praise: "#ThisMorning there is no way any intelligent person could make negative comments about #ashleyjames.
Hosts Rochelle Humes and Dermot O'Leary also expressed their astonishment at the critical remarks about Ashley's choice of outfit on the show. In a conversation with Strictly Come Dancing icon and theatre star Debbie McGee, the topic of women's fashion was broached. Debbie reflected on past attitudes, noting that in earlier times, women would have been labelled a "tart" for showing off their cleavage.
