House Of The Dragon season two is drawing to a close, with the Dance Of The Dragons wreaking havoc and the fate of King's Landing hanging in the balance.

As we approach the thrilling finale, set to air on Sky Atlantic and HBO in just a week, here's a rundown of the dragons from the Game Of Thrones prequel and their sizes.

All of the dragons in House Of The Dragon ranked by size

Vermax

Vermax, the smallest dragon, resides in Dragonstone and is much younger than his counterparts, standing barely taller than most human dragon keepers, as per Distractify.

Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen's (Emma D'Arcy) firstborn son Jacaerys "Jace" Velaryon (Harry Collett) rides him.

Arrax

Arrax, brother to Vermax and Tyraxes, is relatively small compared to other dragons. Prince Lucerys Velaryon (Elliot Grihault) rides him but he pales in comparison to the Targaryens' dragons.

Seasmoke

Seasmoke, also known as the Sea Snake, was heartbroken when his rider Laenor Velaryon (John Macmillan) staged his own murder and vanished.

In the books, Addam Of Hull reclaims him, a character who has already made an appearance in the second season.

The original text also describes Seasmoke as being about a third of the size of larger dragon Vermithor.

Syrax

Hailing from Dragonstone, the female dragon was ridden by a young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Milly Alcock) in the initial episodes of House Of The Dragon.

She was named after a Valyrian goddess and was well cared for, never having had to hunt or enter battle before the Dance Of The Dragons.

Meleys

Previously owned by Alyssa Targaryen, mother of the late King Viserys I Targaryen and Prince Daemon Targaryen, Meleys was considered one of the fastest dragons in Westeros, despite her large size.

She was most recently seen being ridden by Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) in the fourth episode of season two when they both plummeted from the sky.

Caraxes

Caraxes may not be the largest but born with rare deformities, he reportedly has the longest neck of any of the dragons.

He is the battle mount of Prince Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), having previously been used in battle by his uncle Aemon Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell).

Vermithor

Vermithor is an untamed dragon who proves to be a terrifying beast with no master to control him.

He is among the biggest with Daemon trying to serenade Vermithor in an attempt to re-tame him.

While Vermithor does eventually accept a master, it is only after a new dragon rider in the form of Hugh Hammer (Kieran Bew) appears.

Vhagar - Largest dragon

Named after a deity from the mythical Old Valyria, Vhagar towers as the mightiest dragon, once the mount of Queen Visenya during Aegon's fabled conquest and now under the command of Prince Aemond Targaryen.

She lay concealed in the forests near Rook's Rest before soaring out to claim victory over Rhaeyns, the mother of her former rider.

In the books, Tyrion Lannister is noted for remarking that Vhagars enormity is such that "you could ride a house down her gullet".

House Of The Dragon is available to watch on Sky Atlantic and HBO.
