Olympics 2024 viewers were left raging as they waited to see Celine Dion appear for the Paris ceremony as scheduled.
With the ceremony starting at 5.45pm, fans had been waiting hours for a glimpse of the singer, who was said to be duetting with Lady Gaga.
Viewers were sure the masked horseman on the River Seine was going to be Celine, but were left disappointed as the wait continued, with the horse taking over 15 minutes to head through the water to land.
One said: "ENOUGH OF THIS CHIT CHAT!!! Ou est le Celine Dion?!?!!!??!!!!"
Another added: "I think Celine has gone home on that metal horse, my life this is boring!" A third chipped in: "If this masked torchbearer isn't revealed to be Celine Dion then what are we even doing?"
A fourth agreed: "The French leaving the riverside because they never got to see Celine Dion." A fifth begged: "How do you say WHERE IS CELINE in French?"
Celine had been spotted in Paris this week, defying her painful illness to wave to the crowds after being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome.
Speaking in her Amazon Prime documentary, I Am: Celine Dion last month, she revealed she nearly died due to the rare autoimmune neurological disorder that most causes painful spasms and muscle stiffness.
The illness also affects her vocal chords, but despite the singer's vow that she would come back stronger, fans have been left fearing the worst.
She previously declared: "The way I see it, I have two choices. Either I train like an athlete and work super hard, or I switch off and it’s over, I stay at home, listen to my songs, stand in front of my mirror and sing to myself.

This comes after viewers have dubbed the ceremony the "worst ever", as rain washed out the event and left cameras with rain marks, while the boat parade left viewers yawning.
The rain also affected the presenters' microphones, leaving viewers complaining they couldn't hear anything, with one fan saying: "Can't quite hear over the rain #Olympics #OpeningCeremony" as another put: "You can hear the rain over the music and singing…did anyone thought about giving them individual mics and mic receivers so the world can hear what’s going on or more for whoever is watching on the Seine?"
