EastEnders: Tommy Moon calls police on mum Kat Slater

EastEnders fans were left seething on Wednesday night (July 24) when Tommy Moon reported his mother, Kat Slater, to the police after hitting her.

The previous day (July 24), the BBC One soap had unveiled a distressing twist for Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) as her son Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) violently attacked her.

Tommy's anger reached boiling point when Kat and her ex-spouse Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) couldn't repair their fractured relationship, prompting him to express his wish to live with Phil despite the family breakdown.

However, when Kat delivers some harsh truths about Phil, Tommy responds with fury, punching his mother in the stomach. In retaliation, Kat pushes her son away, only to receive a stern rebuke from him.

During the latest visit to Walford, Tommy's unstable behaviour persisted as the teenager refused to join Kat, his father Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), and his siblings on holiday, reports the Daily Star.

When Kat asked Tommy to prepare for the caravan trip, he told his mother that he was still upset because she had hit him.

Defending herself, Kat explained that she had pushed him after he punched her, adding: "I shouldn't have shoved you, I'm sorry."

Despite being bruised and in pain from his assault, the 13 year old continued to make Kat feel guilty.

"You ain't getting an apology", Tommy retorted through clenched teeth, to which Kat responded by reminding him that he had struck her first.

Kat found herself in the position of potentially dealing with social services after Tommy's refusal to take part in a family holiday resulted in its cancellation.

Meanwhile, Alfie made arrangements for a fun-filled kids club in the Square for Bert and Ernie. Upon seeing his brothers having fun, Tommy made a pivotal phone call.

Standing isolated in the corridor, Tommy dialled 999, expressing to the operator: "My mum has been hitting me."

Fans of EastEnders expressed their outrage at Tommy's manipulative behaviour on social media platforms.

On X, one frustrated viewer wrote: "This made my blood boil. Kat barely touched Tommy and she only nudged him because he punched her first. She acted out of retaliation. I wonder how Alfie will react when he finds out the truth. #EastEnders."

A second chimed in: "#Eastenders Tommy is a future thug. Horrible repulsive kid."

Echoing these sentiments, a third person added: "I cannot stand Tommy, he is a vile little creature #Eastenders."

Another angry fan wrote: "Tommy reporting Kat. Have you ever wanted to punch a fictional child through the screen? ? Because I'm considering it."

EastEnders is on-air from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer.
