Emmerdale: Cain and Ella debate leaving the village
On Thursday night, Emmerdale viewers were left stunned when Ella Forster (played by Paula Lane) returned to the village.
Being discovered by Many Dingle (Lisa Riley), Ella confessed she’d only come back to retrieve some items and wasn’t planning on sticking around.
Admitting she had been living in her car, she explained she wanted to start again somewhere fresh.
However, things took a drastic turn when she was involved in a car accident with Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).
The sudden crash happened after Dawn’s biological mother, Rose Jackson ( Christine Tremarco), accidentally spiked her instead of ex-partner Will Taylor (Dean Andrews)
However, Ella’s return and involvement in a car incident weren’t the only shocking turn of events during the episode.
Whilst in the hospital, ITV fans learnt Ella was pregnant with Liam Cavanagh’s (Jonny McPherson) baby, who she was seeing before the horrifying truth came out.
It wasn’t long before people took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the situation.
One person wrote: “Ella's pregnant?! Tonight's ep is off the scale...!” (sic)

Another viewer commented: “Ella’s pregnant… with Liam's baby?” (sic)
“Another pregnancy? Have they got nothing else? Pregnancy storylines are BORING!,” reeled one fan. (sic)
Someone else tweeted: “Liam will not want that baby with Ella in #Emmerdale." (sic)
Replying, one viewer wrote: “I'm not so sure. He lost his only child so may be up for a new one." (sic)
Ella fled the village in June after it was revealed her real name was Ruth Davies and she had killed her friend when she was 11 years old.
After spending the majority of her life in prison for her crime, she underwent a new identity when she was released and allied back into society five years ago.
However, when she confided in Liam, he was furious at her deceit as it brought back painful memories of his teenage daughter being murdered by Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) back in 2021.
Now that she’s back and carrying his baby, will the pair rekindle their romance despite his growing feelings for Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter).
