TOWIE icon Bobby Norris has fiercely clapped back at vicious trolls spreading false rumours about him undergoing 'gender reassignment surgery', slamming the claims as 'fake news'.
The 37-year -old reality TV star, who shot to fame on ITV's TOWIE in 2012, has been candidly sharing his recovery journey from a recent surgical procedure he had overseas. On Sunday 14 July, Bobby shared a clip of himself being wheeled through an airport post-surgery, sporting a bandaged chin and shades.
Grateful for the support from fans, he addressed the haters in the video: "To the trolls out there who have already decided to pipe up and are ready and waiting to give me a caning when you don't even know what I have had done yet, that's bizarre."
Despite his efforts to ignore the gossip, speculation continued to swirl, prompting Bobby to release another video to clear the air once and for all., reports the Mirror.
In this follow-up footage, a recuperating Bobby is seen lying down, still with bandages and sunglasses on. He confronts the rumours head-on, stating: "I just want to jump on because, since I've been back, I've just been resting and recuperating and the few times that I've been on social media I've seen several comments saying that I am going through gender reassignment surgery and that I'm transitioning."
"So I want to come on here to say it's absolute fake news. Firstly, if I was to undergo a procedure like that I would assume that what you would do first is get the beard off. If you're going to go to the effort of everything else coming off, surely the beard's coming off first. I don't know. But I am a man, I love being a man and I'm not transitioning."
Supporters were swift to rally around him, with one penning: "Bobby, even if you were having any type of surgery, it is your own business. For you to keep us, your Insta family involved is a privilege. Ignorance is bliss... allow people to think what they want. I hope you recover quickly and enjoy the sun."
Another chimed in with: "Wow that's awful people would jump to that conclusion. Hope you are ok." A third fan quipped: "Bob I love how you address the trolls - keep shining bright".
