Joe Locke, known for his role in Heartstopper, has shared some exciting news about his upcoming Marvel series. The WandaVision spin-off, Agatha All Along, is set to release later this year on Disney Plus, featuring Locke in a pivotal role as Teen.

The miniseries centres around villain Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), who now works as a detective after being ensnared in the town of Westview by Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff in the original 2021 show. When a body turns up, she embarks on a quest to break free from the spell that has confined her and regain her powers.

Locke's character will be instrumental in aiding Agatha on her journey. In an interview with Rolling Stone, he disclosed that his character plays a crucial part in liberating her from the spell that ties her to Westview.

"It's a dark comedy about witches" he told the magazine. "We gather a coven and a very unlikely group of women and me - which is my life in general - get on the Witches' Road. Then magic, fun, and mystery prevails."

Just like his breakout Heartstopper role of Charlie Spring, his character in the miniseries also identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community. Locke states that Teen's sexuality is "just one part of the character" and praised the show's portrayal of sexual identity as "very truthful and very positive.", reports the Manchester Evening News.

Locke, set to make his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has teased that fans should brace for a departure from the norm, describing the upcoming show as "definitely darker" and "a little bit scary".

He elaborated on the fresh direction, stating: "It's a great start for a new journey within the MCU of exploring different types of characters that aren't like Iron Man or Captain America. It's a new type of superhero, which I think is exciting."

The ensemble cast of 'Agatha All Along' boasts the talents of Aubrey Plaza, Patti LuPone, Debra Jo Rupp, and Sasheer Zamata. Audiences will be treated to a double-episode premiere, followed by weekly instalments for the subsequent seven episodes.

The teaser trailer, unveiled just over a week ago, has already stirred considerable buzz among viewers. Fans have taken to social media to express their enthusiasm, with one commenting: "Suffice to say that Agatha Harkness is the closest thing we've gotten to a classic Disney villain in over a decade." Another chimed in with equal fervour: "A trailer with witches, dark magic, terror and a Florence and the Machine song in the background. Girl I'm here for it."
