Homes Under the Hammer star spots problem at property
On the recent episode of Homes Under the Hammer, viewers were transported to East Suffolk as BBC presenter Tommy Walsh evaluated an auction lot in the area.
The property was aiming for a price between £60,000 and £80,000, and he decided to provide a firsthand examination.
From outside the property, he noted: "It's described in the auction catalogue, as an end-of-terrace with three rooms."
But he clarified that it didn't necessarily specify these rooms as bedrooms. Upon entry, Tommy broke down what prospective buyers would be getting for their budget.
Entering the halfway point, he quickly spotted the unstable floorboards underfoot. Commenting on the state of the floor, he revealed: "This is a repair that's been made to the floor. Not very good actually because it's bouncing all over the place."
Assessing the hallway further, his attention shifts to another issue as he discovers dry rot by kicking the sideboards.
He advised viewers that a significant overhaul was needed: "This all has to be lifted up, any dry rot removed completely from the site and then effectively repaired properly."
Pursuing deeper into the house, Tommy identified yet another problem for the unsuspecting viewers.
Standing within two reception rooms, he pointed out a noticeable gap between joining rooms, nearly an inch wide.

He further mentioned: "That'll have to be addressed."
Determining the presence of a radiator, Tommy interpreted it as being a redeeming quality since it indicated that there could be central heating in the space.
Tommy went on to add: "That would need to be checked over, make sure it's working, give it a good service or replace it as is necessary."
Despite such redeeming points, the property seemed to be seriously plagued by dampness, as the BBC presenter discovered further upon continuing his kitchen exploration.
In light of the intensive moisture issues of the property, experts were called in by the show to establish its cause.
Auction House representative Chris Bailey stated that while each room in the house required some work, the overall potential of the residence was vast.
Upon completion of all necessary renovations, he predicted that the property could command anywhere from £130,000 to £150,000. Furthermore, the addition of an extension could significantly boost this valuation.
Eventually, the property was acquired for £101,00, with the buyer planning to invest around £35,000 to refurbish the home within a three-month period.
