The creator of Derry Girls, Lisa McGee, has unveiled the star-studded cast for her brand new Netflix series.
How to Get to Heaven from Belfast will feature Sinead Keenan from Unforgotten, alongside actors Roisin Gallagher and Caoilfhionn Dunne. They portray three childhood friends in their late 30s dealing with the death of their fourth friend.
Lisa is not only the writer but also the executive producer of this comedy thriller series for Netflix, which has started filming in Northern Ireland.
Talking about her new show Lisa said in a statement: "I couldn't be more excited to start production on How to Get to Heaven from Belfast. I've loved writing Saoirse, Robyn and Dara three flawed, funny women who are about to embark on the most thrilling and terrifying adventure of their lives."

She added: "A mystery full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing and make you laugh out loud. Let's go girls! ".
The creator is teaming up again with Derry Girls' director Michael Lennox and producers Caroline Leddy and Liz Lewin for this eight-part series. More casting news will be announced later on.
The synopsis of the show reads: "Clever, chaotic TV writer Saoirse (Gallagher), glamorous, stressed-out mother of three Robyn (Keenan), and dependable, inhibited carer Dara (Dunne) have been a tight-knit group since school.

The upcoming show promises to delve into the themes of friendship, memory, and the unexpected twists of life.Originally picked up by boradcaster Channel 4, How to Get to Heaven from Belfast has now been snapped up by streaming giant Netflix.
In addition to this, Netflix also boasts the complete collection of Derry Girls, the hit series which wrapped up in 2022 with its third and final season.
