Myleene Klass and Hollyoaks' Kirsty-Leigh hug on Loose Women

Myleene Klass fought back tears on Loose Women as she became emotional talking to Hollyoaks star Kirsty-Leigh Porter about the loss of their babies. Both women have suffered the pain of miscarriages, and Kirsty-Leigh's character on the soap is currently going through the same fate.

She appeared on the ITV daytime programmme to talk about playing that out on screen after having lived it in real life. Invariably, the conversation turned to their shared experiece.

Both women were clearly moved talking about their eperiences, and held hands across fellow panellist Kelle Bryan as they talked. "Your world literally just falls out of your body," Myleene expressed. "Nothing can prepare you."

Visibly emotional, the two women stood up and hugged. "I think the fact you are doing this is so brave," a teary-eyed Myleene complimented Kirsty-Leigh.

"It’s so so brave. It’s so brave that you’re doing it because no one wants to – let’s say it – no one wants to talk about dead babies. It’s brushed under the carpet.

"It’s one of those things that people feel uncomfortable with! It’s happened 30,000 times per month in this country," she said.

Both women spoke at length about their experiences of miscarriage and acknowledged that they still count the babies as their children, even though they tragically never made it into the world.

Myleene has spoken very openly about her four miscarriages and has used her experiences to help implement changes in the law around it.

Viewers were equally moved by the scenes on screen and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their feelings.

Remarking on some of the sarcastic comments segments like this often attract @lexisjeongin fumed: "People on here are disgusting...baby loss is real and its sad and no amount of time can make you heal trust me #loosewomen."
@jesterfron96821 agreed weighing in for the fathers: "Are some of these comments for real, there are so many stigmas around baby loss, being a father in this situation I struggled with my emotions and at the time I even felt like i had no right to be upset, because i needed to be strong for my wife #loosewomen."
