Casio's new watch wants to book a trip to the spa.
Dubbed the Casio CPP-002, the techy time-teller boasts an especially durable design that's able to withstand the hot and humid environment of a sauna, where most traditional watches would typically be unable to resist sweltering temperatures. The sauna-approved watch will be crowdfunded on Japan's Makuake platform, during a three-month campaign that is slated to begin on December 2.
The timepiece will arrive in three models: the CPP-002-OR, which comes in black, white and orange, the CPP-002-BK, which is finished in all-black, and the CPP-002-BU, which appears in black and light blue in collaboration with the sauna platform, Sauna Ikitai.
Each model features a 35.44 mm-wide build with an analog-style face and a 12-minute counter to use specifically in the sauna. The device sits on an expandable band, galvanized by those used on locker keys inside gyms.
Weighing 24.5 grams, the timepiece boasts a water resistance rating of 5 ATM (or 50 meters) and a heat-resistant battery that lasts roughly 5 years. Additionally, the watch's resin body is equipped with low moisture permeability to further prevent the sauna's heated and damp atmosphere from damaging the device.
It's still unclear when exactly Casio's new sauna watch will launch, or what the price of the time-teller will be; but stay tuned to Hypebeast as more details become available. In the meantime, check out photos of the watch in the gallery above.
