Outlander’s Catriona Balfe discusses parenting during filming

Outlander’s Caitriona Balfe has teased a thrilling new film role opposite some very famous faces.

Taking to Instagram this week, she shared that her next project, titled The Cut, will premiere at this year’s Toronto Film Festival.

Directed by Sean Ellis, best known for his war film Anthropoid starring Cillian Murphy, the film features Hollywood stars Orlando Bloom and John Turturro as well as up-and-comers Clare Dunne and Eric Smith.

On her latest Instagram Stories post, Caitriona wrote: “So excited that The Cut will screen @tiff.net…

“Congratulations to everyone involved @seanellisphoto @orlandobloom #Johnturturro and everyone else.”

The post featured a still of Orlando’s character contorting his face in pain with a bloodied nose and eye.

A synopsis for The Cut reads: “A retired boxer returns to the ring for one last shot at the title but only if he can make the weight.

"Holed up in a room in Las Vegas he embarks on an intensive and illegal weight cut program with an unscrupulous trainer.”

Caitriona also shared director Sean’s post about the film, which received a lot of attention from fans who are eager to see the Claire Fraser star taking on another daring role.

“Congrats!! Look forward to seeing it,” one user replied.

Another commented: “This film will be great to see at TIFF in September! We cannot wait!”

“Can’t wait to see this film!!!” a third eager viewer exclaimed.

And a fourth responded: “Two of my favourites….TIFF and Caitríona! Can’t wait to see this at the festival! Congratulations!”

In addition to her acclaimed role in Outlander, Caitriona has earned her Hollywood credentials with major films like Ford v Ferrari and Belfast.

She’ll be back on screens with Jamie Fraser star Sam Heughan later this year for the second half of Outlander’s seventh season.

Outlander season 7, part 2 premieres Friday, November 22 on Starz.
