The Repair Shop star Richard Talman continues to work as the iconic barn’s goldsmith and unsurprisingly, fans are curious to know more of his life away from the small screen.

Jewellery expert Richard Talman is back for The Repair Shop tonight, Wednesday, August 28, at 8pm on BBC One with another emotional job that’ll tug at the heartstrings.

The goldsmith is to meet mother-daughter duo Halina and Lesley who bring in a broken silver ring that was given to Halina’s mum in Warsaw during the Second World War, as a thank you for “risking her life to pass food to families imprisoned in the Jewish ghetto”.

So exactly how will Richard go about carefully giving the sentimental ring a new lease of life?

The Repair Shop star Richard Talman, 45, is married to a woman called Jenny, who used to work as a social worker.

It isn’t known how long they have been together or how they met as Richard’s other half prefers to keep out of the spotlight.

However, it is known that the couple reside in Sussex with their two young daughters, Emily and Alice.

The youngsters actually inspired the name of Richard’s jewellery brand, combining both of their names to create Emilice.

He explained: "I just wanted something that was unique.

“And something that potentially one day they could continue. Bearing in mind now that they are seven and five, one day, they might want to get involved."

While few details have been made clear about Jenny, Richard has previously spoken of her involvement in him getting onto The Repair Shop back in 2018.

He explained how he almost didn’t take the job when he got the call from BBC producers as he believed it was a prank.

Richard elaborated: “There was an answering message on my workshop landline saying,‘I’m a researcher for a show called The Repair Shop and we wondered if you’d be interested in coming along to repair some jewellery on the television.’

“I went to press delete because I assumed it was a prank, but my wife Googled the phone number and it came up as a production company, so I called them back!”

The Repair Shop is available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
