BBC Breakfast's Sally Nugent airs concern for co-star 'I worry about you'

Sally Nugent points out Jon Kay's annoying habit

BBC Breakfast’s Sally Nugent jokingly confessed she was worried about her co-star Jon Kay on Wednesday’s show.

During the programme, viewers were informed about a new virtual reality exhibition in Birmingham, which takes people back to the West Midlands in 1989.

Called In Pursuit of Repetitive Beats, it is centred on the early days of the Acid House movement, which people can relive. After the show spoke to some of the people who went to the exhibition, it cut back to Jon and Sally on the sofa.

Asking people to send images of themselves during that time into the show, Sally quipped: “Thank goodness there were no camera phones!”

Wondering if she’s got any images of herself dressed up in 80s attire, Sally said she hadn’t. She said: “No pictures Jon, even you can’t find pictures, Jon.”

Laughing, he replied:” Oh you’ll be surprised! Go on the dark web and look really really hard.”

Shaking her head, Sally thought Jon’s remarks were hilarious as she started giggling at what he’d said.

She added with concern: “I worry about you sometimes, I’m going to watch what you’re doing right now while we get the news, travel, and weather.”

Chuckling, he replied: “I worry about you sometimes. Worry about me all the time!”

Sally made her return to the BBC sofa this week after spending some time away covering the Euros.

In her absence, viewers saw Nina Warhurst on the red sofa alongside Jon, which went down well with viewers.

This week, the pair reunited on Tuesday morning after Ben Thompson was seen on the show at the beginning of the week.

Sally was part of the BBC Breakfast team for many years before being appointed as a full-time presenter on the show in 2021.

The following year, her co-star Jon Kay joined the programme as a regular host from Monday to Wednesday, with Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty covering the show at the end of the week.

BBC Breakfast continues weekdays on BBC One from 6am
