Everton boss Sean Dyche has confessed that he's received no guarantees about his job security as rumours swirl of his potential dismissal. Dyche finds himself under scrutiny from the club's new owners, the Friedkin Group, who are reportedly sounding out alternatives including ex-Chelsea and Brighton manager Graham Potter.

It was just 19 days ago that Dan Friedkin and his consortium took over Farhad Moshiri's commanding 98.8 per cent share in a transaction estimated at upwards of £400million. The Toffees' dire form, with only one triumph in their last 11 Premier League outings, heaps further strain on Dyche, who took the reins in January 2023.

A forthcoming FA Cup clash against League One's Peterborough presents a chance to alleviate some of the mounting pressure. Sky Sports reported this week that despite initial intentions for stability by the Friedkin Group, the disappointing results have prompted a reconsideration of the club's direction.

Allegedly, high-level discussions are in progress regarding Dyche's tenure. When quizzed on whether his job should be under scrutiny, the 53-year-old said: "To be clear, it should be at the end of the day. If you are a business of this size then succession planning should be part of your diligence. We need to win more games... I know the industry I am in."

The former Burnley manager has revealed that he's had discussions with the club's owners and is fully aware of the need for improved results. Dyche admitted uncertainty over whether the club's hierarchy has been in talks with potential successors, with Graham Potter also being linked to the West Ham job.

Despite facing numerous challenges during his tenure, Dyche confidently stated: "I have worn this badge with as much pride as I can and I will continue to do so."

Dyche could be missing up to eight key players for the upcoming cup tie against Peterborough. He said: "Youssef [Chermiti] is going to be out a while, longer than we hoped. It's not going to be days or weeks. Armando [Broja] has got a chance, it has settled down a bit today.

"He has been on the grass with the physios and will have to see how that reacts.'It's not been ideal. Dwight [McNeil] won't make it this week. It seems to be taking a while. Dom [Dominic Calvert-Lewin] has reported in with an ankle problem today so we're going to have to deal with that as well."

James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam are still out of action, while club captain Seamus Coleman's participation is doubtful. Dyche added: "Jimmy might get a chance to join in with the main group next week. Tim is about a week behind that. There are positives signs but we have got to blend that into training and a bit will be needed on the football side, not just the sports-science side."
