Liverpool manager Arne Slot has cast doubt over Dominik Szoboszlai's availability for the upcoming clash against Tottenham. The Hungarian midfielder missed the recent draw with Manchester United due to illness and is yet to return to training.
"Yesterday [Szoboszlai] wasn't in yet," Slot revealed. "If he's in today, I would doubt if he's available to start the game. But hopefully he's in today. Yesterday he wasn't."
Curtis Jones is expected to fill in at number 10, with Harvey Elliott also an option.
Joe Gomez will be absent due to a hamstring injury, but Slot praised the overall fitness of his squad: "Almost all of them are fit," he said. "That is quite special at this point in the season. I will highlight they show up every three days."
As for who will start in goal, Slot remained tight-lipped, refusing to confirm whether it would be Caoimhin Kelleher or Alisson Becker.
"I said there are many considerations you make before you make a line-up," he stated. "We might play a few players that haven't played all the games and a few players that have played all the games. Today is the first time we train since United. Let's see."
Liverpool secured a 6-3 victory over Spurs in north London just a few weeks ago. A similar winning margin would put them in a commanding position ahead of the semi-final's second leg next month.
