Manchester United's Lisandro Martinez has been singing the praises of Ruben Amorim's impact on the squad as they prepare for a fierce Manchester derby.
Amorim managed a stunning 4-1 win over Manchester City with Sporting in the Champions League six weeks ago and now faces them again with United.
The Portuguese tactician has seen mixed results with three wins and two losses in his first six games at the helm, yet for Martinez, Amorim's passion and energy isreigniting the club's fire.
"He’s been working really well," the Argentine defender commended. I think he demands what the club demands, which is good.
"I like his passion, his energy, the way he wants to play in possession and defending. And also the staff, the energy around the team. It’s all good.

"His way is the way I like to play - the passion, the energy you know. If you have that with me, it’s like you connect quickly. So the coach has brought many good things and, yeah, that’s good for everyone."
The familiarity between Martinez and Amorim goes back to when the centre-back was at Ajax, having encountered Amorim's Sporting side during the Champions League clashes in 2021.
Impressed by the style and substance of Amorim's team back then, Martinez has kept a keen eye on his trajectory.
"I remember the games we played for Ajax against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League," he recalls.
"I started to get to know about him then, the way he played and his team played so well. Those were the games when I first realised about him and I have been watching him since."
