Manchester United will look to pocket up to £62million through the sale of Marcus Rashford and Ruben Amorim already has five forwards on his replacement shortlist, according to reports. The Red Devils are ready to cash in on their homegrown hero to help fund Amorim's much-needed rebuild at Old Trafford.

Rashford has scored three goals across the Portuguese tactician's opening five matches in charge, but he has started just two of them.

Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund represent long-term options on the left wing and upfront, leaving Rashford's future up in the air.

The 27-year-old's relationship with supporters has dwindled whilst he's notched just 15 goals since penning a lucrative new contract until 2028 last summer.

Rashford signed his £300,000-a-week deal on the back of a career-best 30-goal campaign but is struggling to provide the rate required to justify his status on the wage bill.

According to CaughtOffside, United are now committed to offloading the No. 10, who has also lost his place in the England picture.

The M16 giants reportedly believe Rashford's performances are being impacted by distractions off the pitch and that a fresh start would benefit all parties.

Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have been credited as suitors, and his availability is expected to attract further heavyweight interest.

It's claimed United won't sell Rashford on the cheap and are eyeing as much as £62m, which would represent pure profit on the books to boost FFP concerns.

The Red Devils are walking on thin ice when it comes to the Premier League and UEFA's financial regulations after splurging over £600m in less than three years under Erik ten Hag.

They cashed in on Scott McTominay, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Mason Greenwood, among other first-team stars, earlier this year to fund Ten Hag's final summer window.

January transfer activity is considered unlikely, and senior sales will be required to back Amorim as handsomely as his predecessor at the end of his first season.

The report adds that Amorim has already pinpointed five potential attacking targets to fill the void if Rashford departs in the next year.

Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres is an unsurprising presence on the reported list after striking up a power partnership with the 39-year-old in Lisbon.

Napoli's Victor Osimhen - on loan at Galatasaray - is also said to feature alongside Brighton's Evan Ferguson and Juventus pair Dusan Vlahovic and Kenan Yildiz.

Regardless of Amorim's current plans, United's prospects in the transfer market will likely be hit if they miss out on the Champions League for a second successive season.
