Roy Keane gave a blunt reaction to fellow ITV pundit Ian Wright urging him to sign up to I'm A Celeb. During half-time of England's Nations League game with Ireland, conversation took a very random turn away from the actual football.
It followed the former Manchester United midfielder offering a scathing view on a flashpoint involving Kyle Walker in the first half, with host Mark Pougatch then asking Ian Wright: "Do you think we should get somebody in the jungle?"
Wright duly responded: "I think he should go in."
The pundit then expanded with: "My friends James Haskell and the great Nadine Coyle, the best thing that's happened (to both of them). Not a lot of sleep, and not a lot of food."
Keane's reaction said it all. The 53-year-old, despite a wry smile, pointedly shook his head to leave in viewers in no doubt he wouldn't be heading to the Australian outback anytime soon.
But the Irishman soon turned serious when he delivered his assessment of England's first-half display, while they were locked at 0-0 at Wembley. "They've lacked quality," he said, in his customary serious style.
"Ok, we praised them before the game but what you've got to do, particularly for the wide players, you;ve got to back it up. Do it again, do it a few days later.
"Some of the players are actually making some good runs but the quality of the pass.....poor. I hate talking about players who aren't here but they really seem to be missing Trent (Alexander-Arnold)."
The Three Lions responded in the second half however, scoring five times without reply. Harry Kane, Anthony Gordon, Conor Gallagher, Jarrod Bowen, and Taylor Harwood-Bellis all struck as interim boss Lee Carsley signed off having led the team to promotion back to Group A.

Regardless, it doesn't seem like Keane will be joining the list of footballers to go on the famous ITV show. Wright himself, as well as the likes of David Ginola and Harry Redknapp, have previously appeared.
Redknapp was the ultimate winner in 2018, a feat matched by Lioness Jill Scott in 2022. She was crowned 'Queen of the Jungle' after edging out finalists Owen Warner and Matt Hancock.
