Manchester United icon Roy Keane singled out three Red Devils for their roles in the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool. Erik ten Hag's outfit suffered back-to-back Premier League losses after going down to Brighton last time out, with Keane far from happy.

Luis Diaz scored twice in the first half to give the visitors a relatively comfortable 2-0 lead at half-time, with Keane going on to criticise a trio of poor performers for their role in the second.

Casemiro gave the ball away inside his own half and Liverpool burst forward, with the ball played over to Mohamed Salah and he teed up Diaz again at the back post to head past Andre Onana.

And Keane slammed the Brazilian, who was promptly substituted off at half-time for Toby Collyer on his league debut, insisting that Liverpool should not have been afforded so much space to break on the turnover.

"Same old problem," Keane said during Sky Sports' analysis. "Leopards and spots. They (United) were very open, sometimes it was just one or two passes. They got away with the first goal (from Trent Alexander-Arnold) which was disallowed, and obviously there have been mistakes.

"The second, Casemiro here for all of his experience, that's not a first-time pass. It's not worth the risk. And of course when they lose it they are all over the place."

After singling out the 32-year-old, who could lose his place in the team after the international break to new signing Manuel Ugarte, Keane then turned to Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui to question their positioning.

"A player can make a mistake but left-back, right-back, they are all all over the place. Look at your right-back, where is your right-back? Where is your left-back? You are not in control.

"Obviously then Liverpool are good enough to punish them, I was even thinking here (when the ball is played out to Salah) that they might have gotten away with this, because they are quite slow with the pass. But the quality from Salah, absolutely brilliant, good players from good teams will punish you and rightly so.

"You can't give the ball away that cheaply and it has happened a number of times. At this level it is brutal."

United's misery was compounded in the second half when Salah turned from provider to goalscorer. Another breakaway saw the Egyptian receive the ball on the edge of the box and his first-time shot slipped past Onana at his near post.

The home supporters were similarly enraged as they roundly booed at half-time and then later in the second half when Amad was brought on for Alejandro Garnacho, as many fans felt that another forward should have been taken off instead.
