A have arrested a 27-year-old Tanzanian man, identified as Biseko, for his alleged involvement in the trafficking of cocaine in Macau.
According to Judiciary Police (PJ), they had had earlier received information indicating that an African man was engaged in drug trafficking in Macau. After a thorough investigation, the suspect was identified and tracked down in Taipa. On July 24, at around 10:45 p.m., criminal investigation personnel intercepted the suspect near his residence in the North District.
During the search of the suspect’s home, the authorities seized a tin can containing 45 small packages of cocaine, weighing a total of 16.35 grams, as well as more than 300 small transparent plastic bags believed to be used for drug packaging. Additionally, the police confiscated HKD5,100 and MOPD4,200 in cash, suspected to be drug proceeds.
The suspect, who tested negative for drug use, refused to cooperate with the investigation and provide details about the source of the drugs or his involvement in the drug trafficking activities. According to the investigation data, the authorities believe that the suspect has been engaged in drug trafficking in Macau for about half a month, primarily supplying to nightclub dealers.
In this operation, the police seized a total of 16.35 grams of cocaine, worth approximately MOP59,000.
The police have detained the suspect and the case will be forwarded to the Public Prosecutions Office for the crime of illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and for further investigation.
The bureau said it will continue to investigate the source of the drugs and any other individuals involved in the suspect’s alleged drug trafficking operation. Victoria Chan
