Corrie's Sam Aston reveals he has his own dressing room now
Coronation Street's Sam Aston has revealed a significant behind-the-scenes shift for him amidst a wave of departures from the iconic cobbles.
In recent weeks, fans of the enduring ITV soap have been informed of several familiar faces making their exit. In December, Gail Platt (Helen Worth) bid adieu to Weatherfield after a remarkable five-decade stint.
However, her departure was merely the beginning. Since then, Sue Cleaver, Sue Devaney, Lisa George, Colson Smith and Daisy Midgeley have all declared their impending departure from the soap.
While this change may be disheartening for fans, it brings good news for some cast members. On Friday's episode of Loose Women, actor Sam Aston discussed his co-stars' farewells and what it means for him.
ITV's Kaye Adams asked: "You've now get a dressing room?" A chuckling Sam confirmed, adding: "I think you need 20 years and then you get your own dressing room.

"I've been sharing with Mikey North, who plays Gary Windass, for years. Then, Helen was going. I think it got offered to Jack Shephard first!"
Sam elaborated that Jack, who plays David Platt, already has his own room, which he's personalised to his liking and was more than content to stay put, reports Lancs Live.
The soap star added: "So they offered it to me because I was next in line. There's a main corridor where you've got a few of the others, Sue Nicholls and Sue Cleaver, all the big ones! I don't really feel very worthy of it."
During a conversation with Jane Moore, Sam divulged that his pal from 'I'm A Celeb', Alan Halsall, indeed has his own dressing room, something he secured when he started on the soap at age 16.
Sam graced the ITV set to discuss his forthcoming stint on Dancing on Ice alongside his professional skate partner, Molly Lanaghan.
The programme has become known for its array of soap star contestants, including last year's Coronation Street victor Ryan Thomas.
When queried about advice from the past winner, Sam admitted: "He's been great! It's been good because a lot of people on Corrie have done it, so you can ask them and get advice."
He continued, sharing Ryan's proactive support: "Ryan's been ringing me fairly regularly, just checking in on me. He knows it can be quite stressful. At first, he told me not to do it!"
Despite the initial jest, Sam expressed that Ryan has been wholly encouraging of his participation in the beloved competition, which debuts anew on Sunday 12th January on ITVX at half-past six in the evening.
