Michaela Strachan has been dealt a huge blow just days before her debut on Dancing on Ice.

The BBC presenter, 58, is one of 12 celebrities who have signed up to the ITV skating show which returns with its 17th series on Sunday (January 12).

Ahead of the first episode, odds experts at Slotozilla have analysed data from the show’s previous champions to reveal what makes a winning contestant.

Winning characteristics were defined as male, between the ages of 26 to 35. Actors have historically performed well on the show, while those from North West regions like Manchester, Liverpool and Yorkshire have also ended up lifting the trophy.

Alongside this, celebrities who have Acquarius as their star sign have also found success on the show.

Unfortunately for Michaela, she is most likely to be eliminated first because she doesn't meet any of the criteria based on previous winners.

Every other contestant has at least one characteristic, with Coronation Street star Sam Aston leading the way with four.

Because of this, experts at Slotozilla have predicted that the 31-year-old, who hails from Burnley, is most likely to walk away with the crown.

The actor, best known for his role of Chesney Brown on the ITV soap, would be following in his former co-stars footsteps after Ryan Thomas was crowned champion in 2024.

While Sam fits four of the five main criteria, in second place is Manchester-bred comedian Josh Jones, who with three points also fits into the winning age bracket at 32.

Anton Ferdinand, Dan Edgar and Chris Taylor all come in third most likely, scoring two of the four winning criteria, while soap star Chelsee Healey is the only woman to secure more than one point in the ranking.

Commenting on the findings, Marie Toland, Senior Editor from Slotozilla said: "Analysing the historical data of past winners we think there’s a strong chance that Sam Aston is the most likely contestant to win, although that all depends on how he performs out on the ice of course!"

Also taking part in the upcoming series is former TOWIE star Ferne McCann, EastEnders actress Charlie Brooks and Olympic legend Sir Steve Redgrave.

Joining their fellow celebrities will be Mollie Pearce, best known for starring on last year's series of The Traitors, and Paralympic grand champion Dame Sara Storey.
