Emmerdale: 2025 teaser trailer
Emmerdale has thrown another curveball following the sudden death of Will Taylor, played by Dean Andrews.
In a shocking turn of events, Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) discovered a video left by Will accusing his wife Kim Tate (Claire King) of being responsible for his death.
As Will's funeral took place, a furious Dawn confronted Kim at the church before leaving, only to return later for her father's burial, seemingly having made peace with Kim.
However, the police arrived and asked Kim to accompany them for questioning in light of Will's post-death accusation.
Despite the coroner ruling that Will died of natural causes on Christmas Day, Dawn had reported Kim to the police.
In the latest episode (January 8), Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) continued to support his step-grandmother Kim, arranging for a lawyer to assist her during questioning.
Back at Home Farm, Joe and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) agreed that a grieving Dawn was wrong to accuse Kim. Upon Kim's release without charges, a distraught and angry Dawn was left reeling, but Kim maintained her innocence and asked to see Will's video.
After confessing about past animosities between her and Will before their genuine reunion, Kim revealed to Joe that she now planned to admit her reluctance to help Will as he suffered a heart attack, reports the Manchester Evening News.
In a dramatic turn of events at The Hide, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) comforted an intoxicated Dawn, assuring her of Kim's maternal affection and dismissing any notion of intentional harm.
After arriving home, a contrite Dawn sought forgiveness from Kim, showing a readiness to mend fences.
They shared an embrace, keen to put the day's drama to rest, hinting at a semblance of normality returning to Home Farm.
Yet the plot thickened as Dawn retreated once more, visiting Will's grave in a poignant scene that left her apologising to her late father and contemplating a vial of ketamine.
Emmerdale fans have since taken to social media wading into a frenzy of theories about Dawn's link to Will's death.
The online chatter is brimming with intrigue on Facebook, where one viewer asserted: "So Dawn killed her own dad then", and another voiced agreement: "That's what I thought."
Discussions swirled as a third added: "It's looking that way" whereas another surmised she may be plotting against either Kim or Joe: "She has either killed will or she's going to kill Kim or Joe."
Speculations abound, with one fan postulating: "Yes I think she teamed up with Joe".
The storyline has certainly captured the audience's imagination, with wild predictions Dawn's next move.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX, with an hour long episode every Thursday
