Davina McCall thanks her surgeon as she shares update

Davina McCall shared she is "nearly ready" to return to screens after having a benign tumour called a colloid cyst found, which is "very rare".

The Masked Singer panellist tuned in to the show last night and was overwhelmed to see her looking "pre-op" during the programme.

She typed on X: "I know this sounds mad, but seeing my pre-op on @MaskedSingerUK is nice!

"It was such a fun/ mad distraction. I was so grateful, and we had such a blast, but I never thought I’d say this, but I’m looking forward to working again. I’m nearly ready."

Her fans sent her their best wishes in response and complimented her for looking so good following the op.

One commented: "Loved your dress on tonight’s show, it really suits you. Hope you are recovering well and resting up."

Another replied: "You were great amazing voice x."

A third added: "Hope you are recovering well @ThisisDavina."

A fourth remarked: "We were just saying yesterday that the Masked Singer is one of the best things on TV at the moment, and all the better for you being on it. Get well soon xx." (sic)

Davina is reportedly on the road to recovery, nearly two months after her health challenges first emerged. Her partner, Michael Douglas, 49, shared last month that Davina is optimistic about her return to work, aiming for a mid-January comeback.

Recently, she made her first appearance in public since undergoing the operation, which was an emotional moment for her. As she took to the stage to deliver a heartfelt speech in support of the Brain Tumour Research Campaign, tears filled her eyes.

“I’m crying already; that didn't go well,” she admitted, visibly moved as she settled into her speech. Reflecting on her personal history, she poignantly noted, “I lost my sister to a brain tumour in 2012,” before bravely discussing her own diagnosis and the impact it has had on her life.

According to sources close to her, the experience of battling the tumour has profoundly altered Davina's perspective on life. She is now prioritising quality time with her loved ones over her career, even if it means declining work opportunities that would have previously excited her.

A source told Heat magazine: “She was always on the go before her surgery, working on TV shows and brand collaborations, as well as her fitness.

“Now she’s had time to reflect, and she’s realised what she wants is a simpler life and to spend quality time with the people she loves as well as more rest and downtime.”

Davina, a devoted mother to three children—Holly, 23, Tilly, 21, and Chester, 18—from her first marriage— is now putting her family first.

In her journey of self-discovery and healing, Davina has also been reflecting on the memory of her sister Caroline, who tragically lost her battle with lung cancer in 2012.
