Only Connect host Victoria Coren Mitchell left BBC fans confused just minutes into the latest episode of the BBC gameshow.
The TV host returned to the helm of the popular quiz show on Monday night (January 6), which sees two teams battle it out to solve a series of clues and bag points for the chance to win a coveted trophy.
As the blonde star welcomed the two teams, Too Many Cookes vs the Tea Totallers, her bright red nails were clear for fans to see as she read out the clues on her cue card. But moments later, her nail polish suddenly disappeared, showing off bare, unpainted nails.
No explanation was offered about the change, which happened minutes into the episode.
“Watching #onlyconnect on delay and in @VictoriaCoren's intro she has red nails holding the phone, yet later with the question cards, no nail varnish. The viewers of this show are far too observant and analytical to miss something like that continuity!!,” said one fan.

Another penned: “@VictoriaCoren hang on, how long does it take to film a show. At the beginning you have red nails and then a few moments later they have gone.”
“Did anyone else notice Victoria’s nails?,” a third added.
The 52-year-old recently cased a stir when she left fans "traumatised" after making a very cheeky quip. She referenced an infamous joke about her having a crush on former politician Michael Portillo.
As the show ended the presenter - who is married to actor and comedian David Mitchell - said: "Coming up next on BBC Two is another episode in that wonderful series sponsored by the RSPB, where celebrities look after birds before handing them on to other celebrities to raise awareness of struggling avian numbers.

However, this cheeky joke didn't go down too well with some fans.
Taking to social media, one said: "Somewhat traumatised by @VictoriaCoren parting shot on #OnlyConnect tonight!!"
While another added: "@VictoriaCoren full on choked at the closing comment on this evenings episode of #onlyconnect. Did not expect that.'
"#onlyconnect a pretty near the knuckle innuendo by Victoria Coren at the end. I have no problem with that. Innuendo was part of being British."
