LORRAINE

Lorraine Kelly has been a stalwart on our screens since she became the leading host of Good Morning Britain in 1983.

Since then, her career has sky-rocketed as one of the most loved TV presenters on the small screen. In September 2010, the beloved Scott launched her own chat show Lorraine which has become a staple ITV daytime show.

Over the past 15 years, the 65-year-old has interviewed some of the biggest Hollywood stars and unsung heroes on her famous pink couch, regularly discussing the biggest stories hitting the news each week.

But in recent years, the broadcaster has started to scale back her TV commitments and has even opened up the hot seat to presenters Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh when she is absent. The mum-of-one is yet to be seen on our screens this year, with Ranvir stepping in for her all week to host the flagship show.

Last year, the brunette beauty marked 40 years in the limelight and was honoured with a prestigious BAFTA accolade for her influential presence in the world of broadcasting.

And it’s fair to say the doting mum has enjoyed a less frantic work schedule after she celebrated her 65th birthday with a bang and became a grandmother for the first time over the summer.

Following the birth of her granddaughter Billie in August, the TV presenter has revealed when she will decide to retire from her lengthy presenting career.

Speaking to Woman’s Own, she explained: “I’ve always said if the day comes when I don’t really want to go to work, I will stop.

“This year has been amazing, but obviously the most wonderful, uplifting thing was the birth of Billie. I would live in the garden, in a hut, just to get cuddles.”
