The Chase fans were left stunned on Thursday's episode as one contestant revealed her age.
In the most recent episode of the popular ITV quiz show, the audience met competitors Aaban, Margaret, Willis, and George. As they each took turns sharing about themselves, jaws dropped when it came to light that Margaret was an incredible 92-years-old.
Living in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, for the past eight years, Margaret shared tales of her life - with a husband who served in the RAF leading them to relocate a whopping 33 times. She mentioned that her son Matthew had previously graced the show and won an impressive £25,000, inspiring her to give the challenge a whirl.
Margaret, hopeful for victory, divulged her dream to enjoy a flight piloted by her other son, Adrian, an airline captain nearing retirement, should she win any prize money.
Host Bradley Walsh couldn't hide his amazement at her age revelation, declaring her the oldest female contestant ever to grace the ITV programme, remarking on how well she looked for her years, reports the Mirror.
Twitter, now X, lit up with admiration, with one user exclaiming: "Margaret at 92 is doing fantastically! #TheChase". Taking to Twitter, now X, after her fate on the show was revealed one person said: "I hope Margaret gets to fly on her sons last flight, bless her heart #TheChase", a different account put: "Really wanted Margaret to get through #TheChase", another put: "I hope Margaret’s son pays for her to fly with him. #thechase" while a different show watcher added: "Shame to lose Margaret, she seems a lovely lady. #TheChase."
