BBC fans were left confused on the latest celebrity special of Mastermind on Tuesday (December 31). Comedians Eddi Kadi and Olga Koch were joined by performer Kate Butch and actress Sammy Winward all hoping to raise money for their chosen charities.
But after the celebs all revealed their chosen charity recipients, no further explanation was offered by host Clive Myrie about how much money they could raise or how they could collect it.
As fans will know, no monetary award if offered on the show, and fans were left scratching their heads at what system had been put in place to raise the money as they answered the questions.
“How is the charity angle working? There isn’t normally a monetary award?” asked one fan. Another asked: “How is the charity angle working? There isn’t normally a monetary award?” and a third echoed: “If this is for charity....how do the Charities benefit?”

More chimed in, asking: “They're playing for their favourite charities, but it's never said how much they win. A £ a point?”.
Comedian Eddie kadi was first up with his specialist subject of former Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson. RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Kate Butch showed off her expertise on the subject of Disney’s Shrek movie franchise.
Former Emmerdale actress Sammi Winward displayed her impressive knowledge on Cure Usher syndrome and comedian Olga Koch chose Anne Boleyn for her fast-fire trivia round.
Clad in heavy make-up and a full purple dragon costume, Kate Butch impressed during her round, answering 10 questions correctly and ultimately took home the coveted trophy. The actual amount of money won or how it was accumulated throughout the episode still remains a mystery.
Other celebs that have appeared on the show include Kelly Somers, Nikita Kanda, Jennie Bond and Liz Kershaw.
