A GB News star has issued an update after he was forced to step away from his hosting duties last minute. On Thursday evening (December 19), GB News presenter Patrick Christys pulled out of his 9pm show unexpectedly and confirmed that Ben Leo would step in to replace him.

Now the 32-year-old, from Cheshire, has confirmed that he is making a return after a "stressful" time. Posting to X (formerly known as Twitter) the host wrote: "On my way back to London for my @GBNEWS show tonight!

"Stressful last 24 hours or so but everything seems to be looking up now. Thanks to @benleo444 for stepping in last night, and for everyone who tuned in! See you at 9pm!"

Fans rushed to support the star, commenting with words of well wishes. One wrote: "Hope all is okay with you Patrick. Ben did a great job of standing in for you. Good to know things are looking up for you again."

"We missed you last night but I’m glad things are looking a bit brighter now. Hope they continue to improve, see you tonight!," another added, while a third shared: "Glad to hear you are back on tonight, shall tune in. Also thankful that everything is looking more positive, very worrying for you."

Someone else said: "Glad to see you are heading back. Hope whatever the emergency was the situation improved."

While one more added: "It will be good to see you back, hope all continues to improve, Ben did a good job."

It comes as the presenter shared that other commitments meant he had to travel to the north of the country and would be unable to film the show.

He wrote on X/Twitter on Thursday afternoon (December 19): "Hi everyone, just a little note from me to say unfortunately I won’t be hosting 9-11pm @GBNEWS tonight - I’ve had to nip back up north to help out with something.

"I think the great Ben Leo is covering so please do tune in, he’ll have a brilliant show for you. See you tomorrow!"

The sudden shake up came amid a major change for GB News. On Wednesday, it was confirmed that Breakfast host Isabel Webster and Mark Dolan had been axed, while politician Jacob Rees Mogg had his hours cut.
