Strictly: Lauren Oakley gets emotional in rehearsals

Strictly Come Dancing's Lauren Oakley couldn't hold back the tears during a touching moment in rehearsal, captured by her celebrity dance partner JB Gill.

The dynamic duo has been wowing audiences and judges alike, securing an impressive 39 out of 40 points for their energetic Charleston to Yes Sir! That's My Baby by Firehouse Five Plus Two last weekend.

Now, as they gear up for the quarter-final this Saturday night (November 30), they're set to perform a Viennese Waltz to Let's Go Fly A Kite from Mary Poppins on the BBC One dance competition.

In the run-up to their performance, the pair joined Fleur East on Tuesday's (December 3) episode of the Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, where they discussed their preparations for the next dance.

Lauren was visibly moved during rehearsals, a sentiment captured in a video JB shared on Instagram. In the footage, Lauren is seen overwhelmed with emotion, laughing through her tears on the rehearsal room floor, reports the Mirror.

"What are you doing?" JB enquires, as she responds with tears running down her face: "I'm emotional." He probes further: "Why are you so emotional?" Lauren then confesses: "Because you did really good."

JB can't help but chuckle as he turns the camera to himself, exclaiming: "I did good guys - I did good." While Lauren affectionately adds: "You did so good. You looked proper."

Lauren became emotional as she recounted to Fleur the powerful impact of watching their dance rehearsal back, saying: "That come after we watched... We filmed the run through then we watched back and it just made me emotional because he looked proper."

She struggled to hold back tears as she added: "What is really nice is that you know that your partner is doing the right things when you can do the right things as well. I was getting my shape because he gave me the frame and it was just a beautiful moment and it made me cry."

JB reflected on their almost perfect score with optimism, stating: "It's not to say that I was expecting a 40 but for me I think - Craig had high standards and we know that already. He had said not in response to me but he said that he is going to give a 10 to what he feels draws him in and allows him to engage and watch."

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday and Sunday on BBC One and iPlayer. Strictly It Takes Two airs weekdays from 6.30pm on BBC Two and iPlayer.
