EastEnders' fans are set for another festive rollercoaster as the BBC has announced a massive revelation that's poised to shatter one family to its core this Christmas.
The iconic BBC One drama has become synonymous with Yuletide shocks, with viewers traditionally treated to a cocktail of murder, infidelity, break-ups and dramatic confrontations during the holiday season.
Last year's Christmas special saw The Six take centre stage when Keanu Taylor (played by Danny Walters) met his grisly end at the hands of Linda Carter (portrayed by Kellie Bright) in the infamous Queen Vic pub.
Millions tuned in to see the explosive scenes where a vengeful Keanu attempted to throttle Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), only for Linda to intervene lethally with a meat thermometer, dispatching Keanu within moments.
With Christmas 2024 on the horizon, soap fans are already speculating about the impending calamities set to descend upon Albert Square. On Tuesday (November 26), the BBC teased viewers with hints of what's to come, confirming that the Beale clan will be embroiled in a major plotline, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Viewers are aware that Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) has been entangled in an affair with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour), and it seems it is destined to come to light.
"Secrets and lies are set to throw a wrecking ball into the Beale family festivities this year as the shocking truth about Cindy is revealed in spectacular fashion in EastEnders on Christmas Day," the BBC divulged.
Cindy's illicit romance with Junior kicked off earlier this year, before she called it quits after getting engaged to her former husband Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt). Cindy decided to 'play it safe' and create a future with Ian and their children.
However, when David Wicks (Michael French) made a fleeting comeback to the Square, he spotted Cindy and Junior in a passionate embrace down the side of The Vic, much to his delight.
In an unexpected turn of events, Cindy admitted to her ex-flame David that she's still smitten with Junior's father, George Knight (Colin Salmon), and fantasises about being with George when she's with Junior.
On the other hand, love-struck Junior, who was left by his wife earlier this year, confessed to George that he's fallen for a woman who's already spoken for, but keeps her identity a secret.
Junior also happens to be the half-brother to Cindy's daughters Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina Knight (Francesca Henry).
What will happen when Cindy's latest deceit is revealed to the Beales on Christmas Day? How will the Beales and the Knights react to the shocking revelation? Only time will tell.
