This Morning: Jeff Brazier takes 'swipe' at Andi Peters

On Monday's episode of This Morning, viewers were treated to a new hosting duo as Cat Deeley took the helm alongside Andi Peters.

Typically, Cat is paired with Ben Shephard, but he is currently off filming for an upcoming ITV show. In his absence, viewers have seen a variety of hosts including Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary join Cat.

This week, it appears that Andi Peters, usually responsible for delivering the latest competition news, will be taking centre stage. During the show, Jeff Brazier couldn't resist making a playful dig at Andi.

Andi addressed the audience saying: "If you're dreaming of a white Christmas, Jeff Brazier has gone in search of some snow. Jeff, good morning! It looks glorious where you are!"

To which Jeff responded: "Morning Cat and Andi. Andi don't worry, I'll do the cold ones!" This caused both Andi and Cat to erupt into laughter, with Cat remarking: "That was brilliant!" Andi chimed in with: "Jeff, I thank you for that!"

Despite the banter, Jeff admitted that it wasn't actually that cold where he was. Viewers quickly took to Twitter to voice their opinions on Andi co-hosting with Cat, with reactions being somewhat mixed, reports the Mirror.

One viewer expressed their opinion on the morning show's atmosphere, saying: "Andi is a bit over the top for a gloomy Monday morning." Meanwhile, another viewer was sceptical about the new presenting duo: "This Andi Peter and Cat Deeley partnership looks like a recipe for disaster, I don't think Cat fancies Andi Peter's as a co-presenter. Andi Peters and Rochelle is the best partnership on this morning."

Yet, not everyone shared this sentiment, as one fan of the show remarked: "Their energy is better matched." As they opened the show, Cat and Andi discussed how the weekend's stormy weather had disrupted their plans.

Cat shared: "We had to cancel tennis and cancel golf, but there was a roller disco involved! Have you ever done one of those?" To which Andi responded with a hint of surprise: "I don't think I've ever been to a roller disco.."

As Cat revealed that there was a roller disco venue near their studio, she suggested that they should visit it together.

In an enthusiastic call to action, Andi turned to the crew and exclaimed: "Book us in! Anyone want to come to the roller disco?!" His invitation was met with cheers from his colleagues, and he humorously added that Cat would be footing the bill for the tickets.

It's not yet known when Ben will return to This Morning as he films a new game show, set to air next year. Called The Summit, the programme will see people challenge the elements as they have a chance to win a huge £200,000 prize.

Ben his excitement about the upcoming show: "This series really has got it all; the contestants are going to be tested in every possible way as they try and take on the mountain. They'll need a serious amount of grit, determination and strategy if they want to reach The Summit.

"Most people know how much I love exercise and adventure but this is taking it to another level - I'll be donning my mountain gear to check in with them as they battle up the mountain and do their best to combat the demands of the ominous Mountain's Keeper. I can't wait to see how they get on because anyone who reaches The Summit will have seriously earned every penny of the prize fund."

This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am.
