Strictly Come Dancing: Eighth celebrity is voted off
Strictly Come Dancing fans were left underwhelmed on Sunday evening, as the competition heats up with the final in sight.
Despite a commendable score of 35 and ranking fourth on the leaderboard, Montell Douglas was surprisingly pitted against Wynne Evans in the dreaded dance-off.
The Gladiator star graced the Blackpool Tower Ballroom floor once more, performing her Salsa to Thelma Houston's Don't Leave Me This Way alongside pro partner Johannes Radebe.
Wynne, paired with Katya Jones, scored 31 for their Charleston, narrowly avoiding last place on the leaderboard but had to repeat their performance in the dance-off.
When decision time arrived, the judges unanimously voted to save Montell, thus concluding Wynne's Strictly journey, reports the Mirror.

Viewers didn't hold back on sharing their opinions on Montell's unexpected dance-off appearance, despite the judges' high scores.
One viewer expressed: "Montell is a fabulous dancer. She should never be in any dance-off."
Another vented their frustration, commenting: "Ffs! Underscored and bottom 2 again. Montell doesn't deserve this."
"Travesty. Montell should be nowhere near the bottom 2," another fan exclaimed in dismay.
One more added: "It might not have been Montell's strongest dance, but her and Johannes absolutely do not deserve to be in the dance off."
One viewer took to Twitter, expressing their disbelief, adding: "What? ! Why aren't people supporting Montell and JoJo? They deliver every week and never disappoint. Last nights routine 100% shouldn't have landed them in the bottom at all. Gutted for them."
Another chimed in: "Sad for Montell to be in the dance off again. I feel she could easily be a finalist."
Upon his departure from the show, Wynne reflected: "It's been wonderful, I've got to say. I feel like it's what Strictly is all about.
"If I can come and do Strictly and last until week nine, then anybody can get out there and dance and have a brilliant time. Strictly is such a brilliant family, such a precious family, that I want everybody here in this room and at home to look after it for the generations to come because it is a wonderful, wonderful thing.
Katya echoed his sentiments, saying: "To be honest with you, the smile hasn't left my face since the first day of our training, since the day we got partnered up. You [to Wynne] have made this experience so joyous and so full of laughter for me.
"I'm sure everybody was jealous because you're the kind of guy that everybody wants in their life. You bring light, you bring laughter, you bring charisma, you fill up every room you walk into with those qualities."
Strictly Come Dancing continues weekdays on BBC One from 7:05pm
