Strictly: Wynne Evans dances at Blackpool Tower ballroom

The remaining eight contestants of Strictly Come Dancing put on a spectacular show on Saturday night as the BBC programme made its much-anticipated return to the legendary Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

Blackpool Week is always eagerly awaited by celebrities and viewers alike, as the pairs take to the globally renowned dance floor.

The episode kicked off with a bang, with fans treated to an exclusive performance by The Pet Shop Boys, who set the tone with a medley of their biggest hits.

Some contestants left the judges in awe, with Sarah Hadland and Tasha Ghouri clinching the top spot on the leaderboard with a score of 39 for their routines.

However, Pete Wicks and his professional partner Jowita Przystal didn't fare as well, earning a total score of 27, reports the Mirror.

Viewers believe they've figured out who will be the next to leave the competition after noticing some errors.

One viewer said: "Wynne needs the boot . Overmarked every week. Totally forgot some of the steps tonight."

Someone else wrote: "Think Wynne went a bit wrong but was hilarious."

"Just by the sheer number of mistakes, and the fact he looked like he'd forgotten most of the choreography, it's an injustice that Wynne got eights after that routine," reeled another.

Someone else commented: "I can see Wynne making the bottom 2 again, mistakes dotted around."

While another tweeted: "Wynne NEEDS to go home ... so many mistakes!"

A third viewer expressed their frustration: "Just by the sheer number of mistakes, and the fact he looked like he'd forgotten most of the choreography, it's an injustice that Wynne got eights after that routine."

Another added: "I can see Wynne making the bottom 2 again, mistakes dotted around."

Despite the mixed reactions, some viewers thoroughly enjoyed the performance. One fan expressed: "Love them or hate Wynne and Katya, but she always choreographs such fun and crazy dances, absolutely brilliant to watch."

Another simply stated: "Love Wynne!"

At present, Wynne Evans is tipped as the next contestant to exit the show, with Grosvenor Sport placing his odds at 3/5.

Simon Kew, a representative for Grosvenor Sport, remarked: " We're at the halfway point of the series, and the remaining eight Strictly couples will battle it out on the dancefloor at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom."

"As the competition continues, the harder it's going to get for the celebrities. Wynne Evans is our firm-favourite to be eliminated Strictly this weekend, priced at 3/5."

"Wynne has been in the danger zone for a few weeks now and was saved by the judges after he landed himself in the bottom two last weekend."

Last weekend saw Wynne pitted against Shayne Ward in the bottom two, marking Shayne's third appearance in the dance-off.

The judges were divided over who to save, with Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse opting for Shayne, while Anton Du Beke sided with Wynne.

This left head judge Shirley Ballas with the final say, ultimately deciding to keep Wynne in the competition and bid farewell to Shayne.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Sunday on BBC One from 7:20pm.
