BBC Breakfast: Sally 'alarmed' by upcoming cold weather
BBC Breakfast's Sally Nugent was quick to issue a two-word response after colleague Carol Kirkwood issued a weather update on Wednesday's show.
During the latest instalment, Sally, 53, and co-host Jon Kay, were reading the latest headlines when they discussed Scotland's first inland surf resort opening after a £60m revamp on an old disused quarry.
After watching footage, Sally admitted: "I'm telling you this, it looks cold!", adding as she went over to Carol's weather segment: "It looks very very chilly indeed there Carol, morning!"
With Carol replying in a weather update: "Good morning both of you, you think that's cold Sal? Wait till next week!" to which Sally replied in two-words: "Oh no!"
Carol continued: "It looks like it's going to turn much colder across the country into next week! But this morning first of all, it's a chilly start for some of us, there is some frost around!"
Later on the show, after reiterating next week will be cold and a 'shock to the system', Sally joked: "I don't need another shock to the system Carol, it's already early enough!"
It comes as Jon let slip some big news on BBC Breakfast on Tuesday, leaving Sally horrified. During the instalment, Nina Warhurst joined them in the studio to discuss rogue traders.
As they introduced Nina to the show for her segment, Jon left his co-star stunned when he revealed to Sally: "Nina's trying to make me do a half marathon with her," as Sally's face dropped.
"Can't believe you've just mentioned that on air. You've said it on the television now which means you'll have to do it!" she said, as Jon said: "I said trying to persuade me not that I'd do it..."
As Jon introduced Nina's rogue traders segment, Sally could be seen mouthing to Nina that there was no way Jon was going to do it. "Are you doubting me?" Jon asked.
Nina then added: "I'm using reverse psychology Sally. If I say he can't do the half marathon, then he'll say he is," as Sally added: "I'm worried about him, I don't think he should do it!"
BBC Breakfast continues on weekdays at 6am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
