GB News: Patrick Christys opens up on battle with alcohol
GB News stars Patrick Christys and Emily Carver gave fans a rare insight into their Christmas Day live on-air after becoming a co-star couple.
Emily and Patrick tied the knot earlier this year, jetting off on a honeymoon in November – after initially postponing the holiday to cover the UK General Election for the channel.
Now the pair have been presenting together on Boxing Day, asking viewers to send in snaps of their Christmas dinners in a “rate my plate” challenge. But to start things off, Patrick and Emily shared a snap of their own lunch.
Patrick said: “We thought we’d kick things off. So we wanted to show you a picture of what we were tucking into yesterday, or at least a bit of it.”
Emily suggested: “Shall we talk everyone through it? Obviously you’ve got turkey there, the white and the brown meat. You’ve got some delicious roast potatoes, a couple of parsnips, some sprouts of course. Peas – do peas belong on a Christmas dinner? Broccoli. You’ve got some creamy, cheesy leeks. It was delicious.”

Labelling the leeks the “pièce de résistance”, Patrick enthused about the food before his wife added: “And then red cabbage in the middle, a little pig in blanket and some stuffing.
“And gravy on top. We hadn’t put the gravy on yet. I put it on, I promise. There was bread sauce and cranberry sauce. My mum said they’re now doing sourdough bread sauce. She said, ‘No, don’t need that’.”
It comes after Patrick shared his daily routine with GB News fans, admitting that Emily usually wakes him with her 6:30am alarm.
He said: “Monday to Friday usually starts by being woken up by Emily (my wife's) alarm at 6.30am, moaning about what time it is and then rolling over and then waking up properly at 8am.
“I put the key in the front door at about midnight. Emily has usually made me a little bite to eat so I'll have that, which I really appreciate because she's got a full-on schedule as well.”
