Sunday Brunch: Fans think 'something's wrong' with Bob Mortimer

Sunday Brunch viewers noticed a big change just seconds into the latest instalment.

The hit Channel 4 show was back on TV screens on Sunday (November 10) for another morning of food, laughter and music. Joining hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer was another batch of famous faces.

However, viewers couldn’t help but point out how there were more guests than usual on the show. The line-up today, included Alfie Boe, Michael Ball, Katherine Ryan, Nick Mohammed, Leomie Anderson, Jake Shears and Maverick Sabre.

And despite the huge variety of celebs, viewers still issued complaints on social media. On X, one person said: “Too many guests on @SundayBrunchC4 quality is always better than quantity!! Bored! Love Rick though.”

A second added: “More repeat guests on #SundayBrunch as usual, Boe & Ball, and unfunny Kath Ryan.”

Meanwhile, on Instagram, someone else penned: “Lots of reasons in this lineup are the reason I don't watch it.” A fourth wrote: “Wow! Real celebrity guests.”

However, other fans were impressed, as someone gushed: “Great lineup!” A second penned: “Looking forward to it, as usual, great guests, love that.”

It comes after fans shared their concern for last week's guest, Bob Mortimer. The 65-year-old comic, who is most famed for his part on Gone Fishing with pal Paul Whitehouse, appeared on the show last Sunday (November 3) to discuss his latest book offering, The Hotel Avocado.

But following his segment, a sense of concern prevailed as fans sensed that all was not well.

Many took to social media to voice their apprehensions. One viewer shared: "There seems to be something wrong with Bob. He doesn't seem himself #sundaybrunch," as another added: "Bob is looking very distracted in this segment! #SundayBrunch."

One fan issued an impassioned plea for his wellbeing, stating: "#SundayBrunch Protect Bob at all costs. A national treasure. River King. Penman extraordinaire," while another commented: "Bob looks like he'd rather be at home #sundaybrunch."

Another picked up on a "weird vibe" in the studio, wondering if the entire cast had been affected. They penned: "There's a weird vibe in the room today. Everyone is on edge, nothing is settled, and there's a burgeoning sense of irritated armageddon building. It's perfect #sundaybrunch."

Sunday Brunch airs every Sunday at 9:30am on Channel 4.
