ITV's This Morning has made a touching tribute in memory of contributor Trevor Sorbie, who has sadly died of cancer at the age of 75.
The renowned British celebrity hairdresser known for giving hair care tips on ITV's This Morning, had only weeks ago informed viewers that the cancer he was first diagnosed with in 2019 had unfortunately spread. It was confirmed by his team this Friday that he had passed away.
As his health deteriorated, Trevor faced a tough decision when doctors suggested chemotherapy might lengthen his lifespan. However, he courageously declined the treatment, expressing on ITV: "I can't face any more of that poison."
Taking to Instagram to express its condolences, This Morning posted: "We're saddened to hear the news that Trevor Sorbie MBE has passed away at the age of 75. We were honoured to have him share his story with us a few weeks ago, and send our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends."
The announcement follows Trevor's own candid discussion on the ITV show, where he expressed doubts about living to see Christmas, speaking to hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, accompanied by his wife, Carole. He recounted a frightening event where he said: "I lost a lot of blood one night and I was unusually disturbed about that. I went to the hospital and they told me I had bowel cancer," reports the Mirror.

He said: "I had a little panic attack and Carole and I looked at each other and we were just both speechless walking down the road... I didn't know what to say. I went and had a big gin and tonic and that helped! But then it spread to my liver, I had a six hour operation, but it came back to my liver, had another operation, and now the major [growth] they won't cut it out because it's too close to a major blood vessel."
On Friday, his family announced his death. An emotional post on his Instagram page read: "It is with heartfelt emotion that we share the passing of our esteemed founder, Trevor Sorbie MBE. Trevor passed away peacefully with his family and beloved dog by his side. Trevor's journey, marked by unparalleled creativity and kindness, has left an indelible mark on the world of hairdressing and beyond."
