Billy Bob Thorton speaks about his new show
Billy Bob Thornton, the Hollywood actor, caused quite a stir with his appearance on The One Show, as viewers claimed he looked 'unrecognisable'.
During Thursday's episode, Thornton and co-star Jon Hamm joined the BBC chat show to discuss their latest TV project, Landman.
Set in West Texas, Landman explores the lives of billionaires who extract and sell oil, causing a significant boom in business that impacts not only the local community but also the country and the wider world.
Thornton, known for his role in Bad Santa, plays Tommy Norris, a crisis executive at an oil company. Hamm, famous for his portrayal of Don Draper in Mad Men, plays Monty Miller, who shares a longstanding professional relationship with Tommy.

In conversation with hosts Alex Jones and Clara Amfo ahead of the show premiere, Thornton discussed the challenges his character faces, reports Wales Online.
"My character is there to make money for him so there is a lot of pressure to make sure all that comes off, in a very dangerous world so he has the weight of the world on his shoulders," he said, referring to Hamm's character.
He added: "Tommy has a sense of humour thank goodness but there is a lot of pressure all the time and this is about how you get the oil off the ground but it's also about how it affects all the people around you."
Throughout the interview, viewers at home were left bewildered by Billy as they hurried to X, previously known as Twitter, sharing their bemusement over Billy Bob Thornton's transformation, which featured a more prominent, bushy beard and his choice of a dapper trilby hat.
One perplexed viewer queried: "Why doesn't Billy Bob Thornton look like Billy Bob Thornton? #TheOneShow."
Another remarked: "What has Billy Bob done to himself? I would not have recognised him. #TheOneShow."
Yet another observed: "So Billy Bob Thornton looks like a cross between Johnny Depp and Charles Manson #theoneshow."
Another inquired: "What has Billy Bob come as? #TheOneShow."
And an additional comment pointed out: "#TheOneShow I thought was Boy George! ".
