An ITV news reader was forced to apologise after fans branded a report "not good." Rachel Townsend reported live on some of the latest headlines this evening, on Tuesday November 5, as the broadcast was interrupted by loud bangs.
It comes as the bereaved families of the Manchester Arena terror attack, which happened back in 2017, have claimed that failings to protect those caught up in the atrocity infringed their human rights. Lawyers acting on behalf of the group have said that legal action against MI5 is the next step in their battle for justice.
Rachel reported live from outside Manchester arena as she gave the latest updates on the headline. She was explaining that the tragic bombing may have been prevented had MI5 responded to key intelligence recieved about the attacker in the months leading up to the attack.
The news reporter added that the director general of MI5 expressed "deep regrets that evidence wasn't gathered" when the findings were made public . He added that he was "profoundly sorry" that MI5 was unable to prevent the suicide bombing.
She added: "As a result of those failings over 200 people, including survivors and families of those who where killed as well as others effected by this tragedy, want to take action against MI5. They also want damages."

As Ms Townsend continued the report, loud bangs could be heard in the background, interrupting what she was saying.
She stopped the report to explain: "I should point out that a firework display has just started over the road from us, so apologies if this is difficult to hear."
Sirens could also then be heard too, as the reporter handed back to the ITV news studio. The anchor added: "Rachel Townsend in a very noisy Manchester there. Thank you."

Viewers at home were less than impressed with the timing of the fireworks, that were more than likely set off to celebrate Bonfire Night.
Posting on Twitter, one user wrote: "Did no one at @itvnews think to check when the firework display in Manchester was set to go off?!"
While another added: "Talking about a bombing incident with fireworks going off in the background is not good #itvnews." A third said: "Well it is fireworks night."
