An Escape To The Country hopeful rejected a property due to an unforgivable issue. Kicki, originally from Sweden, was planning to relocate to the West Sussex countryside from her current home in Woking, Surrey.

Following a health scare five years ago, she has been focusing more on herself.

Kicki was accompanied on the show by her friend of nearly 30 years, who she believed would help "balance" her decision-making process. Together with host Alistair Appleton, Kicki and Lisa visited the second property in Nyewood, West Sussex.

Kicki remained "quite tight lipped" about her thoughts on the property. When asked for her opinion, she confessed: "The neighbours are a bit close. The road is a bit close. The house looks fascinating and beautiful," as Alistair explained that he had to show them the house because it was quite special.

The property had undergone renovations over the past few years, resulting in a high-quality finish. Kicki was impressed with the open-plan layout and the extension, which included a stunning hourglass-shaped kitchen diner, reports Wales Online.

"It's very unusual," they commented, praising the blend of old and new in the design. "As a kitchen diner you can't beat it, I feel very calm in her," she expressed while touring the property.

Kiki marvelled at the five-bedroom, three-bathroom abode, complete with two en-suites, and was charmed by its rustic exposed brickwork, elegant internal wooden doors, and ample garden.

While impressed, she ultimately rejected the house: "The house is beautifully done up. I don't think I can forgive the neighbours being so close. It's not what I'm looking for at the moment. I'm sorry," she guessed the value to be around £945,000.

Despite the property's asking price of £800,000, which fell well below her budget of £950,000, Kiki declined, citing the proximity to neighbours as a dealbreaker.

However, Kicki's interest was piqued by a barn she'd seen and planned a second viewing, hoping to assess her willingness to compromise for that homely feel.

"That's very important! I will go back and visit the house and do a little bit of meditation in my mind when I go home and if the feeling is there, I have to go back and feel it again," she conveyed to Alistair.

*Escape To The Country airs weekdays on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
