Eastenders: Suki reveals Denise hit Nish over the head
EastEnders aficionados were taken aback in the most recent instalment when Nish Panesar, who had been hovering on death's brink mere episodes earlier, seemed astonishingly hale and hearty.
In Tuesday evening's enthralling segment of the iconic East End series, viewers saw a revitalised Nish resuming his menacing ways. Nish, who took to terrorising his unfortunate spouse Suki, pressed her relentlessly to confess who had struck him on the head, rendering him unconscious last Christmas.
Pestered by threats, a beleaguered Suki eventually let slip that Denise Fox was the assailant. Taken aback by her revelation, Nish responded: "I'm sorry. I mean it's a bit ironic, isn't it? My whole life you despised me as a murderer but when push comes to shove, we're the same."
To which Suki retorted with revulsion, "We are not the same!" Nonetheless, as tension escalated on-screen, viewers were instead befuddled at Nish's seemingly miraculous recovery. Not long ago, the character, who suffers from a critical heart condition requiring a transplant, was seen battling for survival in hospital.
His dramatic turnaround left perceptive fans bewildered, leading them to take to social media to voice their confusion, reports the Daily Star.
A viewer questioned incredulously: "Wait, isn't Nish dying of a heart condition? What happened to that? Where is he getting all this energy to shout and scream and throw his weight around? He was gasping for breath in a hospital bed a couple of weeks ago!"
Viewers took to social media to question the continuity in Eastenders, with one fan pointing out: "Did #Eastenders forget about Nish's heart condition when he was grabbing and shouting at Suki tonight? Last time he did that he was almost at death's door..."
Another viewer expressed disbelief, commenting: "Nish is doing bloody well for somebody supposedly on their deathbed."
Meanwhile, another added fuel to the fire by saying: "Nish should just hurry up and die, he was knocking on deaths door a few weeks ago. Where's he got the sudden energy from to be terrorising Suki?"
In a dramatic twist later in the episode, Suki found herself alone and made a heartfelt call to Eve, leaving a voicemail where she confessed her love, stating she wanted to be with no one else but her.
Yet, in a shocking turn of events, she then summoned Nish downstairs and, under pressure to keep him silent about the Six and Denise's attack on him last year, she reluctantly agreed to let him "take her back" from Eve for one night.
