Emmerdale: Jade speaks to Billy outside his home

Emmerdale enthusiasts are convinced they've figured out the mysterious identity of Caleb Miligan (played by William Ash) and Ruby's (Beth Cordingly) daughter - who it appears paid a visit to the iconic village.

The storyline heated up after Ruby's mother, Helen (Sharon Maughan) passed away last month, propelling Stephanie into the centre of villager speculation while her true identity remains shrouded in secrecy.

A pivotal scene saw Ruby and Caleb contemplating whether to reach out to Stephanie when Ruby asked her husband with deep emotion: "How did we end up here? With two kids who don't want anything to do with us."

Later, Ruby confessed: "I know what I said but you are right, I'd only be doing it because it's what I need. If she wants anything to do with us, she knows where we are. She doesn't need me putting my grief on her, think we have screwed her up enough already."

Ruby's world was further shattered this week upon learning of Caleb's secret visit to her terminally ill mum, robbing Ruby of the chance to mend their fractured relationship before Helen's passing, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Amid the heavy cloak of mourning, Ruby once more mentioned Stephanie during a discussion. However, fans of Emmerdale suspect that Stephanie may be newcomer Jade (Twinnie-Lee Moore).

The plot thickened when Jade arrived on Billy Fletcher's (Jay Kontzle) doorstep, seeking to lure him back into the hazardous world of fighting.

Billy has been earning some quick money through underground boxing matches, but was left severely injured and in need of medical help from local paramedic John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), called upon by his concerned friend Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).

Mackenzie cautioned Billy that he was "digging himself a hole" with all the deceit towards Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and hinted he could end up with worse injuries if he persisted.

However, Billy has agreed to another match which has sparked speculation among Emmerdale fans who believe his next opponent will be Ross Barton, Dawn's former lover.

They are convinced that promoter Jade is actually Stephanie Miligan and is collaborating with bad boy Ross Barton (Michael Parr), whose return to the village has been confirmed.

One Emmerdale fan speculated on Facebook: "Just had a thought, Ross Barton left Emmerdale and in real life started a fighting career, Billy in Emmerdale now is currently fighting for money in secret. I reckon maybe the Ross Barton comeback storyline is that he ends up being one of Billy's opponents?"

A second responded: "You could be on to something here", while a third cheekily added: "Good theory, will we get to see him semi-naked?"

Meanwhile, another fan theorised on Reddit: "Could Jade be Stephanie Milligan? Jade is the gal who seems to organise Billy's underground fights. Could she be Caleb and Ruby's estranged daughter? Using the name Jade as an alias..."

"That would be interesting. She seems tough," one fan commented, while another chimed in: "I actually thought the same thing. They suddenly have a daughter, and then this new chick turns up."

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
