Coronation Street fans are in for a treat next week as the cobbles are set to be rocked by a series of dramatic storylines.

Next week's spoilers reveal a shocking hospital dash for Gail Platt, portrayed by Helen Worth, ahead of her departure from the popular ITV soap after an impressive 50-year stint.

Meanwhile, betrayal is on the cards as two characters seem to embark on a romantic journey, leaving another resident feeling sidelined.

Additionally, one character decides to take a break from the cobbles following a challenging period. Here's a sneak peek at the major storylines unfolding on the cobbles next week, reports the Liverpool Echo.

In forthcoming episodes, Carla Connor, played by Alison King, shocks David and Shona Platt, enacted by Jack P Shepherd and Julia Goulding, with news that she's made an offer on their house.

Later, at number eight, a heated argument ensues between Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien), David and returning character Jesse (John Thomson).

However, the tension proves too much for Gail who loses her temper and throws her quarrelling children out of the house. But there's more cause for concern when Gail begins to breathe heavily and clutches her arm, prompting Jesse to call an ambulance.

Soon, David, Sarah, and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) rush to the scene as Gail is whisked away in an ambulance, with David and Sarah blaming themselves for instigating the argument with Jesse.

In the forthcoming episodes, a puzzled Bobby Crawford, portrayed by Jack Carroll, confronts Max Turner, played by Paddy Bever, questioning why he's been avoiding him and is surprised to find Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) there as well. When they deny ghosting him, Bobby demands to know their secret.

Later in the week, in an attempt to distract herself from villain Joel Deering's (Calum Lill) funeral, Lauren reaches out to Bobby by inviting him to visit her newborn son Frankie in the hospital.

However, during their visit to the baby unit, Lauren is taken aback when Max confesses his feelings for her, which she reciprocates. What will be Bobby's response?

Gemma's other sibling, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), suggests that she returned to work prematurely and offers her a friend's cottage in the Lake District for a break. Later in the week, it's revealed that Gemma departs the cobbles for a respite in the Lake District. How long will she be away?

While searching for David's daughter Lily's bicycle pump in the cupboard, he is disconcerted by what he uncovers. Following his discovery under the stairs, Jesse probes David for a confession. Will David admit to Jesse?

In the upcoming week, Kit is engrossed in solving the mystery of Joel's murder, as he fervently types away on his laptop in the back room of the Rovers.
