Strictly: Chris McCausland performs Wayne's World routine
Strictly Come Dancing fans were left impressed as Chris McCausland delivered a powerful performance with his professional partner Dianne Buswell on Saturday night. The comedian, who is the show's first blind contestant, and Dianne performed a Salsa to Down Under by Men At Work, earning a standing ovation from the audience and 30 points from the judges.
However, despite their impressive score, fans were unhappy with the judges' scores, particularly Craig Revel Horwood's decision to award Chris a six.
One fan tweeted: "Is Craig actually having a laugh Chris and Diane's dance was unreal the salsa a 6 omg like #strictly." (sic)
Others expressed similar frustration, with one asking: "Why did Craig just gave Chris a 6? Are you serious? #Strictly." (sic)
Another commented: "Craig calling Chris' dance 'bonza' and then scoring it a 6? ! ! ! No Craig, it was NEVER a 6! ! ! Ffs! #Strictly." (sic)
The audience was wowed by Chris and Dianne's energetic routine, which included some impressive lifts and spins. Dianne beamed with pride as they received their scores, fighting back tears, reports Manchester Evening News.
Despite the controversy over the judges' scores, Chris and Dianne's performance was widely praised by fans, who took to social media to express their admiration for the pair.
Fans of Strictly Come Dancing took to social media to question the judges' scoring, with one fan incredulously posting: "A 6 from Craig for that performance is ridiculous #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing." (sic)
Another viewer joined in on the critique, airing their dissatisfaction and remarking: "Craig is suffering from a condition where he scores everyone 2 below what they should've gotten. Because that was NOT a 6 #strictly." (sic)
Calling for justice on the dance floor, an outraged fan pleaded: "That was worth more than 6 Craig, come on #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly." (sic)
Despite receiving criticism for his scoring decisions at times, judge Craig Revel Horwood is known for his tough but honest approach towards all participants of the show.
During last night's show, Love Island's Tasha Ghouri and her dancing partner Aljaz Skorjanec soared to the top of the leaderboard with their Charleston to Anne-Marie's rendition of 'Unhealthy' by Shania Twain.
In contrast, Dr Punam Krishnan and Gorka Marquez found themselves at the bottom with a score of just 20 points for their Jive.
