Strictly: Katya pushes Wynne's hand off her waist
Fans of Strictly Come Dancing expected one name to come up in the dance off this evening, following another day of controversy on the BBC show. Viewers at home noted an "awkward" atmosphere in the studio as Wynne Evans and Katya Jones discovered that they would be competing for another week.
A lot of the dance partners choose to hug as they find out that they are not facing the dreaded dance off, but this week Wynne simply smiled and gave a thumbs up, while Katya lifted her hands to her face in shock.
Fans at home seem to think that it could be Wynne's final week on the BBC dance show due to his actions last night. Taking to X/Twitter, one user wrote: "It won’t be, but let’s hope tonight’s the last night we see Wynne on our TV screens x #Strictly."
Another wrote: "Oh the tension between Wynne and Katya. They will 'leave this week for personal reasons'. Very uncomfortable to see #strictly #StrictlyComeDancing."
"Wynne'll no be in after next week I bet #Strictly," a third predicted, while another added: "Odds on Wynne being in the bottom two next week...#Strictly."
It comes as opera-singer Wynne faced backlash over "inappropriate" hand placement on yesterday's show. There was also a "failed high-five" moment, that caused speculation among fans as they jumped to the conclusion that the celeb and his dance partner were uncomfortable around each other.
But the pair clarifyed the awkward moments as "jokes" in a shared statement posted to their social media accounts, where Katya initiated with: "Hello everybody it's Wynne and Katya here.
"We just wanted to say we were just messing around in the Clauditorium on Saturday night and just want to say sorry. It was a silly joke." To which Wynne chimed in: "Yes sorry."

Further clarifying in the post's caption, Wynne wrote: "Apologies for this tonight we were just messing around. We really are amazing friends. The high 5's is a running joke. Have a great evening @katyajones."
Katya later released her own, solo, statement as the professional dancer explained: "I need to make something crystal clear. The hand incident that happened on Saturday night was a very silly inside joke between Wynne and I.
"So even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is complete nonsense. It's actually absurd."
