Piers Morgan was accused of supporting "genocide" by speaking to former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak on his Uncensored show.
He found himself responding to claims that the political figure was "unhinged" after Barak claimed that Israel had a "compelling need" to respond to Iran following the recent attack and warned that the region was "on the verge" of major war. Piers addressed the controversial issue, which has many divided, on the show.
"People are extremely fearful about what has happened in the last two weeks and feel that Israel is barrelling its way not just through Gaza and now Lebanon but also ultimately to a head-to-head - direct conflict - with Iran, who they believe are responsible for fuelling all this anti-Israel terror hatred through Hezbollah and Hamas," Piers stated. Then he quizzed of Barak: "Are you as fearful or is there something to this that we don't quite understand?"
The former PM responded that he believes Israel had been "more led by events than leading" and had ultimately had no choice but to react. He stated that he believes Israel was "stuck in Gaza for too many months" but insisted that conflict had "always [been] orchestrated by Iran".
"Israel is not responsible for it," he declared. He continued: "We are now on the verge of a regional war. I'm not sure it's inevitable. I don't think that anyone really needs it but it can happen, because Israel now have a compelling need to respond to Iran."

He added: "Neither the UK nor any sovereignty on earth would accept, [for the] second time in half a year, having a major unprecedented [attack].
He spoke about ballistic missiles raining down a "small country", before declaring: "Israel has to respond and I believe they will do it!"
The interview led to one follower taking to Twitter to rage: "@piersmorgan is it your policy to invite almost exclusively the most unhinged people to represent Israel? More drama - more views, ah?"
Piers retweeted her words, responding that Ehud Barak "is former Prime Minister of Israel.."

Some insisted that he didn't "represent Israel".
However, another commentator shot back: "And imagine other countries' media interviewing Boris Johnson as the representative of Britain…."
One Israeli follower wrote: "Ehud Barak is a respectable security figure in our country. But he's not the kinda man I'd wanna see represent my country in a debate at your show. The Pro Palestinian supporters need to face someone who speaks in their language."
Someone else replied to the "unhinged" claim by tweeting: "Everyone is unhinged who is in that fight - they are riddled with resentment. And that's understandable.
